Managed by former senior bartender at COA Hong Kong and head bartender of COA Shanghai, Robin Leung, The Tuxedo brings his passion for agave spirits into the bar's creative vision. The bar focuses on a "postmodern classic" menu, reinterpreting traditional classics through contemporary techniques to offer a refreshing new experience. Situated near some of Shanghai's most popular young nightclubs, The Tuxedo stands in stark contrast, showcasing the interesting and charming contrast that Shanghai is known for.

From the very entrance, The Tuxedo immerses visitors in the classic cocktail culture that its founder aims to convey. The entrance features a display of precious items personally acquired by Robin from overseas, including Harry Johnson's 1888 Bartenders' Manual, which first featured the Tuxedo cocktail, and authentic vintage materials used to make the drink. With great enthusiasm, Robin introduces these items to guests, explaining, "Actually, the original meaning of Tuxedo had nothing to do with attire—it referred to a private club and estate." His introduction reveals his deep passion for cocktail culture.

Entering the seating area from the Western-style entrance feels like stepping onto a time train back into the past, symbolizing a cultural journey from West to East. The walls in the seating area feature classic Chinese windows adorned with different shapes of cocktail glasses, creating the sense of being in a train that connects Eastern and Western cultures—symbolizing Shanghai as a city where cultures merge.

At the back of the bar, there is a uniquely designed private room, perfect for those who experience social anxiety or prefer intimate spaces. The room is inspired by the design of a pawnshop, with movable abacus beads on the wall. A small window with a curtain connects the private room to the bar, allowing guests to enjoy their drinks directly without too much interaction.

The Tuxedo's drink menu is built around the concept of "postmodern classics", reimagining classics like the Martini and Margarita while adding elements of Leung's expertise in agave spirits.

Notably, Tuxedo #310 is an innovative take on the classic Tuxedo cocktail, made with Siete Misterio mezcal, gin, blended vermouth, bergamot, and absinthe, served with frozen grapes to maintain a chilled, multi-layered, and refined flavor. Additionally, The Scorpion takes a traditional Tiki cocktail base and adds house-made roasted almond syrup, garnished with an edible scorpion—adding both a sense of fun and a conversation starter, much like the ant garnishes at Singapore's Native.

The drink menu also features other uniquely crafted cocktails, such as the Shanghai Cocktail, inspired by the city in the 1930s.
